There is new legislation for 2018 that you need to know today so you can prepare. For the last several years, all agents and brokers have been required to disclose the license number and the responsible broker's identity on all solicitation materials that are intended to be the point of "first contact" with prospective clients, and on all real property purchase agreements when the licensee is acting as a real estate agent in those transactions.

Beginning in 2018, for sale signs will be included in the law.

"Solicitation materials" is now defined as:
business cards,
stationery,
advertising flyers,
advertisements on television,
advertisements in print,
advertisements electronic media,
advertisements "for sale,"
advertisements rent,
advertisements lease,
advertisements "open house,"
and directional signs,
and other materials designed to solicit creation of a professional relationship between the licensee and a consumer.

This is important information for when you order new sign, cards, Open house sign, ask for riders etc. Make sure your new signs are in compliance with the new law.
